After Davido has publicly suggested that someone had leaked the video of Skelewu earlier, the video director Sesan has chosen not to trade words, giving his own account of everything via a statement.

My attention is drawn toward the chaos surrounding the release of the Skelewu video .
Myself and my team shot the video for Davido in Nigeria and to the best of my knowledge my client and his team were very happy with the result, when they watched/ and approved the video. If he has since had a change of heart, that is ok.

I am not in any way responsible for the release of the video. I believe Davido and myself did a very good job regarding the video production and as a professional of over 10 years. I find it very irresponsible and immature if my client and his management publicly put out false statements/comments, in an attempt to tarnish my name, credibility and reputation.
I remain dedicated, humble, focused and as hard working as ever. Thank you to all my fans and industry professionals –

 

 

P-Square?s Peter Okoye and Lola Omotayo Marriage Date and Venue Confirmed

P-Sqaure’s Peter Okoye and his fiancée Lola will be having their traditional marriage on November 17, 2013, at Arc Events Centre, Lagos while their white wedding will hold at a later date in 2014.According to NigeriaFilms, a representative of P-Square confirmed this to the online portal when contacted.With this development, arrangements for the marriage are already ongoing to make the day a memorable one. It will be recalled that Peter Okoye proposed to Lola Omotayo with a brand new Range Rover SUV in the beginning of August 2013.

Wanting so badly to get hooked is something many people seem to take far too lightly and for granted these days. Something some of them feel they should do to win acceptance from people and society. These days’ people look at the package and never the content, forgetting that marriage should be a life time commitment of two strangers. In some cases the marriage may workout, like, Charles and Diane, Tunde and Wummie. But most of the time it falls like a park of cards, because as people are rushing to get in, people are rushing to get out, at an alarming rate. Kai!! These days break ups and divorce has become the trend as soon as the honey Moon is over. People use to think that divorce rate is only high amongst celebrities, but now, across board, couples are falling asunder,  going under the pressure of a very bad decision , just because they Must Marry. In these hard times, people are blowing and burning pots of money on very fancy weddings that really don't last after the honey moon. In this age, some parents still pressure their daughters in getting married early. It's like, once your girl crosses the 30yrs bracket, they start to panic, getting anxious and putting pressure on their girl to get married, like it is that easy. She just can't go to the market and buy a husband, or can she? When the poor girl insists on finding her dream man, she is accused of being unserious. Parents please learn to back off joor, it's not by force. After all, are they the ones who will leave with the spouse? There is nothing wrong with waiting for the right person, because if it is the razzmatazz of the wedding things that you enjoy, go ahead and throw yourself a big nonstop party for a whole week. After all, weddings are just one day event, but a marriage is supposed to be a life time thing. I know that weddings are fun, romantic and you can finally tell your girlfriends, boyfriends or your sugar daddy's that you have finally captured your own ‘mugu’. But has this guy been tried and tested? Dating and courting is a different matter from ‘Till Death Do You Part’. Living with one human being for the rest of your life. My sister look the thing well oooo. Bebe, do you have an idea how your guy functions in rough weather? When reality bites, is he calm or does he freak out? Do you share the same interest in some things? Bebe, before you rush into this marriage, it is important to learn where your partner stands on the bigger issues of your life together. Do you have the same values? Sit him down and have a long talk about these and other issues that are of importance to you, you may discover that chances of a long lasting marriage could be slimmer; women are intuitively wired to pick up these things. Are you a learner? For me, I got hooked up with a woman I never saw coming and a woman I will never let go. When I met my wife, she was not even a girlfriend or a lover. I liked her physically, because she had and still have curves that men would die for, but she was never my idea of a wife. She kept hanging around like other beautiful women around me; it was more or less a platonic relationship. All the time I didn't know I was under the microscope of the FBI and the CIA. She was to tell me all this after our marriage. Even though we dated for about 3yrs, in my wildest dream I never saw her coming till one morning after sleeping over, she woke me up, looked me straight into my sleepy eyes and demanded that I marry her in the next few days or she will leave me. Wow! Before then, no one ever threatened me like that, no one ever gave me ultimatums. Who born them? Me CharlyBoy? Little did I know that this woman for years has been doing research on me, this woman has seen me ‘finish’, figured out how to arrest and deal with me. When I was much younger, I had a very violent temper, I was obnoxious. And she had witnessed me a few times in my rage with other women. "Ain't you afraid that I will hurt or harm you" to that she answered, "you can never hurt or harm me because I will never give you a reason to" hummmmmm!!!  Oh! See finish. Bebe, it's easy to know what you are getting into. If in doubt, investigate, set exams for the guy. I believe women are emotionally smarter than men. You must know who you want to marry, it's important for your happiness. You don't deserve scrap especially if you are hardworking, intelligent, progressive and forward looking. Investigate him from all angles, don't be in a rush joor. You don't deserve that heartache because the way marriages are crashing, it's making me catch cold. With the way things are going, very soon we will be throwing divorce parties and inviting friends and well-wishers to celebrate divorce anniversaries. They will choose asoebe, hire a big hall, with Dbanj as the entertainer and Julius Agu as the MC. Even questions like, "when are you getting your divorce" will be the buzz.So if you know you can't handle the pressure, remain single. If the man is still under investigation, please take your time, don't rush. If you know that you are too horny to be faithful, biko remain single and have a ball. If you can't endure bad weather from time to time, stay in your father’s house joor. Never get married out of desperation or because other people are getting married.  If you want a beautiful home, like mine, examine your choice of a life partner, there are a lot of gigolos out there preying on desperate babes like you. But show them say you pass them. No be you?

 I WAS MARRIED TO DON JAZZY, I TRULY MISS HIM- D'BANJ CONFESSION

Even a day old baby would easily recognize the formidable spirit of the two jolly friends on stage. D’banj and Don Jazzy, no doubt, both dominated the music scene for nine years before the cookies crumbled and they went their separate ways. Today, they have formed individual group, D’banj-DB Records, Don Jazzy-Marvin Record, but something still seems to be connecting the two together.

In an interview recently, D’banj confessed that he really missed Don Jazzy whom he had spent the better part of his career with.

Hear him “If I say I don’t miss Don Jazzy, I am lying. I have spent the better part of my career with him. I was married to him in a way (laughs). So I miss everything about Mo’Hits: the family, the movement, and the vibe of being in the studio with him. I miss the jokes and the arguments, but I have since keyed into the notion that nothing can stop a moving train. Nevertheless we can always do music together. The track, ‘Top of the World’ was produced by a Grammy Award Winner. The songs ‘Finally’ and ‘Don’t Tell Me Nonsense’ was produced by my producer while ‘Oliver Twist’ was produced by Don Jazzy. So, why won’t I have him on my 10 years anniversary album?”

Does Don Jazzy feel this way too? Really, Don Jazzy, who now operates Marvin Records, has not opened up on their issue since their separation, he has remained focused with his business, shunning out hit songs to remain permanently on top of the game. We are waiting if he would indeed accept to feature in D’banj’s 10th anniversary album.

Iyanya signs 3rd endorsement deal in 2013 – see details of his N35m deal with Solo Mobile

Iyanya must really be happy he’s struck his third endorsement deal this year.

The Pop singer has signed a deal with a mobile phone manufacturing company called SOLO Mobile. The company has not released any details of the deal but Iyanya’s manager says it is worth the sum of $220,000 (35 Million Naira). The deal his publicist says also comes with a brand new 2014 Prado SUV.

The signing took place at the company office in Computer Village, Otigba, Ikeja, Lagos today (October 16, 2013). Earlier in the year, Iyanya signed up with telecoms company MTN Nigeria and months later with Zinox Computers.

Interestingly all three deals centre around mobile telecommunications.

We’ve said it a million times already, 2013 is a busy year for Hip-Hop in Nigeria!

Ice Prince has announced he will be releasing his anticipated second album ‘Fire of Zamani‘, the follow up to his successful debut ‘Everybody Loves Ice Prince‘, on October 28, 2013, two days before his 27th birthday.

After teasing fans, his record label Chocolate City has unveiled the official cover artwork. Best described as ‘serene’, the cover shows Ice Prince from the chest up, donning a white shirt, rocking a pair of see-through eye glasses.

The album according to Choc City will feature a host of cameos including Sunny Neji, Wale, M.I, Chip, Ruby, Wizkid, French Montana, Jesse Jagz, Olamide, Sound Sultan,  Burna Boy, Yung L, Jeremiah Gyang, Shaydee and Morell with production from Chopstix, Don Jazzy, Sammy Gyang, J Sleek and E Kelly.

Despite the hype, promotion for FOZ has been very minimal. There have been no over-the-top marketing campaigns from the label, something we’ve seen with past Chocolate City records including M.I’s 2008 ‘Talk about it‘, 2010 ‘MI2‘ and Ice Prince’s ‘Everybody Loves Ice Prince‘

The Immortal gospel group started back in 2004 in secondary school, comprising of Fabcity and Waxy Klink. A year later, they were joined by I-Dexter, and together, they recorded two tracks “persistence and “praise the Lord”
I-Dexter left to further his education.  In 2009, the group was joined by G-Wanna & Omowunmi respectively, and they recorded three songs: “my Lord,” my time” & holy party.
From four, to three members, (Fabcity, G-Wanna, Omowunmi).
In June 2013, they signed under HMC SIGNATURE RECORD LABEL, where they recorded their first album titled “IMMORTALITY”, a ten track album that will be out very soon. They have two singles on the air wave now, TRINITY AND I DON’T KNOW

Future Or Drake – Who Wins $1.5 Million Lawsuit?

Rapper, Future is suing Drake with a 1.5 million dollars lawsuit this week for being dropped out of Drake’s “Would You Like A Tour?” project days ago. The rapper was laid off shortly after a Billboard article quoted him throwing some unflattering comments about Drake’s album, “Nothing Was the Same”.
Apparently, in the interview, Future explained why, to him, his delayed album ‘Honest’ was better than many of the rap albums released lately. “Drake made an album that is full of hits but it doesn’t grab you,” he allegedly said. “They’re not possessive; they don’t make you feel the way I do. I want to make you want to fall in love.”
Drake’s team eventually had to drop Future off the tour, even though he claimed he was been misquoted. According to New York Post, Future is planning to file a lawsuit against Drake for lost wages in a sum of $1.5 million. They also claim, his earnings were promising and could have grossed up to $400,000 per show. Even when Drake’s team offered him a pay cut, reports say he turned it down and took off.
Legal reps for both parties haven’t made any comment and if things stay this way, this could turn into a serious rap feud.

TONTO DIKEH REVEALS HER SWEETHEART

Tonto Dikeh has been involved in relationships recently that didn’t all go well including one with Yvonne Nelson for the same guy whom she later denied any knowledge about.
Her pain and struggles with some of her colleagues has been in the media for the past weeks and the subsequent sharing of her father’s picture to the public for the first time only served to illustrate the deep hole of love missing and how much she longed for a partner in her life to love and support her. Well maybe she has found one.
Even though she wasn’t explicit as to whether he was indeed her boyfriend, Tonto had this captioned message with it:
“With my sweetheart….Udo”

So could surmise that he is the lucky one and his name “Udo.”

MARY J BLIGDE IN NIGERIA

Fun seekers and lovers of contemporary R&B, hip-hop and soul music were last Friday treated to an unforgettable night of music and dance when American Queen of ‘Hip-hop soul’, Mary J. Blige stormed Lagos for the Etisalat and Baileys’ sponsored ‘Sisters with Soul’ concert at the Expo Centre of Eko Hotel, Victoria Island. It was indeed, an experience that cannot be forgotten in a hurry, as fans were yelling for more when the America music idol mounted the stage.

Clad in a mid-riff baring turtle neck top, leather shorts and knee-length gladiator heels, the multiple award winner and multi-platinum selling artiste took the audience back in time, dolling out her most loved songs from the 90s up until her most recent releases. The singer-songwriter who was excited to be in Lagos, kept thanking the crowd for their love and support and expressed her delight when members of the audience sang along as she performed.

   

The climax of the show could be said to be when Mary J. Blige while thanking the fans, spotted Tiwa Savage in the crown and invited her to the stage to perform. Tiwa after greeting the singer and her crew, did a short christian song were she thanked God for everything. She also defined Mary J. Blige as her idol and model who contributed in making her what she is today. She said she used to perform with Mary back then in USA.

Speaking at the concert, Mr. Felix Enwemadu, General Manager, Diageo Brands Nigeria, said Mary J. Blige is a highly respected singer who represents the spec for Baileys target consumers, the stylish and trendy woman.

Also excited was the Chief Commercial Officer of Etisalat Nigeria, Mr. Matthew Willsher, who expressed the brand’s delight being associated with the show. “It is exciting for us as a company to be part of the ‘Sisters with Soul’ concert that featured for the first time in Lagos, Nigeria Mary J.Blige alongside other talented female artistes in the country.
